Students Journey Over The Rainbow

8th May 2019

The Halls Head Primary SHINE students invite fellow Mandurah schools to journey over the rainbow with them, offering free tickets to local schools to watch their production of the classic show The Wizard of Oz.

SHINE Stage Arts is a new initiative created by HHPS in 2019. The program offers Performing Arts extension to selected students, who are then tasked with creating drama to share with their local community.

The SHINE students have partnered with the HHPS Choir to form a cast of over 70 young performers who will bring The Wizard of Oz to life in a family-friendly 45minute show.

“We have been rehearsing hard all year to create a show we can be proud of,” SHINE Founder & Director, Sian Dhu, said.  “Our talented students are very excited to share their show with fellow young Mandurians, and we are proud to lead the way in creating free opportunities for kids in our community to experience theatre.”

“Essentially, it’s kids developing the artistic horizons of other kids – which is just awesome to be part of!”  Miss Dhu said.

Schools wishing to attend The Wizard of Oz for free are encouraged to contact Sian Dhu at Halls Head Primary School for more information. Places are limited.
